Graduate Assistantship Program

Benefits of the Assistantship Program

  • Full tuition waiver
  • Stipend of $5,000 per semester
  • Free on-campus housing

Any student who has been admitted to a graduate degree program at Paul Smith’s College and is enrolled in at least six graduate level credit hours per semester may apply for a Graduate Assistantship.

Once accepted into the program, your job responsibilities as a Graduate Assistant will be fully outlined in the initial job description. Graduate Assistants fulfil a broad range of campus needs including teaching, coaching, student support services, or other campus duties.

As a Graduate Assistant you’ll receive a waiver, which will cover all tuition while you are holding the Graduate Assistantship. Tuition waivers are subject to all appropriate IRS regulations and different conditions apply to international students. If you’re an international student please contact us for details on how to qualify.

While the College does not cover the cost of textbooks, insurance, or other student fees as part of the Graduate Assistant program, you will receive a stipend of $5,000 per semester for additional expenses. In addition, all Graduate Assistants are eligible for free campus housing.

Applying to become a Graduate Assistant is simple. The first step is to reach out to us for more information through the Graduate Inquiry Form.

Once your application is received, Human Resources and the associated supervising faculty or staff member will coordinate a review of applications and an interview process.
